Sen. Lindsey Graham said in an interview Monday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions may step down after this week’s midterm elections.

The Washington Times reports Sessions told 960 The Patriot’s own Hugh Hewitt, “Jeff will probably step down. We’ll have a new attorney general most likely early next year.”

The South Carolina Republican senator also dismissed rumors he’s interested in becoming attorney general saying he would prefer to remain in the Senate.

Graham did not respond to Hewitt’s questions about who he thinks may be potential successors.
