The "Agnus Dei" was adapted to Low German by Nicolaus Decius (in 1531). Later, Landstad, the editor and writer of the Norwegian hymn book, translated it to Norwegian, which is what you hear Kristine Kringlebotn Goa singing in this video. Rune Hodne Hermundsplass plays the guitar and put the original up on YouTube at

With his kind permission I have then adapted it to a 3 verse version -or should I say, variation- that I have made on the theme.
As visual background I have chosen to show the Stations of the Cross as depicted in various versions. These are pictures to help Christians meditate on the way Jesus took from Pilate to his death on the Cross. However, the story does not end on the cross, but in Christ's resurrection, which also underlies the Agnus: Jesus can give us His mercy and peace because He is not dead but alive, so I have chosen to end on that note!
Landstad's Norwegian text is:
O Guds Lam uskyldig
På korset i helslaget
Inntil døden lydig
Hvor ille du var plaget
For vår skyld var du såret
Har verdens synder båret
Miskunn deg over oss O Jesus (1st and 2nd time)
.. Gi oss din fred O Herre Jesus (3rd time)
Nicolaus Decius original text, which is still used in churches in Germany today is:
Lamm Gottes, unschuldig
am Stamm des Kreuzes geschlachtet,[a]
allzeit erfunden geduldig,
wiewohl du warest verachtet,
all Sünd hast du getragen,
sonst müssten wir verzagen.
1–2 Erbarm dich unser, o Jesu.
3 Gib deinen Frieden, o Jesu.
